Final Fantasy 7 Remake Deadly Dodge Materia Guide

In order to really get souped up when you’re beating on thugs in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you’re going to have to make the most of the game’s layered combat system which involves a whole bunch of Final Fantasy classics like summons and materia. You’ll be doing a lot of repositioning and countering as Cloud in combat, so we reckon that a smart pick is the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Deadly Dodge Materia.

Why? The Deadly Dodge materia lets you get in a strong attack once you’ve dodged an enemy successfully. However, this does not activate immediately. In fights where you’re going to want your character to be on their toes but to also stay in melee range of a foe, Deadly Dodge becomes a lot more useful. We’re talking about the likes of Rude, for example, who requires you to be very quick on your toes when he launches himself at you but also requires you to stay somewhat close to punish him. If you need a full guide to beating this boss, you can check out our tips and tricks that we’ve relinked here for your convenience.

To use Deadly Dodge, you just have to hit the attack button once you’ve successfully dodged an enemy and you’ll see yourself strike back rather satisfyingly. We reckon it’s right up there with how you feel after a good Punisher stance block with Cloud.

If you’re wanting to get the Deadly Dodge materia, however, there’s a few ways. You’ll actually be able to pick it up as part of rescuing Aerith when you’re being chased by enemies around the Business District. When you’re coming up on the Loveless building, you’re going to run down a nearby avenue after doing a 180, where you’ll see this on the ground by a car.

You can also purchase it from the materia store that gets unlocked in Chapter 3 of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and it’s not terribly expensive, but we reckon the earlier that you can get some useful materia into your slots the better, honestly.

Now that you have our guide on how to get the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Deadly Dodge materia, it should be easier for you to also get your mitts on it and to use it effectively in battle. It’s important to stay on your toes during fights in the game, and the more ways to get in chip damage against some of the harder enemies, the better.
