Every New Map in COD Modern Warfare 2 Season 2

Don't take a bullet to the dome.

Players have been patiently waiting for details on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, and now we know exactly which maps will appear in the multiplayer. Four new maps are on the way, two of which will be thrown into the core playlists full of 6v6 content.

The other two maps will expand the Ground War category of multiplayer since it was largely ignored when Season 1 dropped in November of 2022. So everyone can stay up to date on Season 2 before it drops on February 15, we have all the new maps listed for Modern Warfare 2.

Three of the maps you’ll find on this list are also points of interest from Al Mazrah in Warzone 2. They will likely be modified to some degree, so they feel better in multiplayer, but don’t be surprised if you recognize them. The fourth map is also returning from the beta after being removed from the lineup. Below you can find the full list and descriptions:

MW2 Season 2 Maps

  • Dome (6v6) – This is a classic map from Modern Warfare 2. It has been remade before and was also added to Al Mazrah. The layout will likely look the same as the Dome we all know.
  • Valderas Museum (6v6) – This museum map was available to play in the MW2 beta but was removed for the launch. Now we can get a chance to play for real at the start of Season 2.
  • Zaya Observatory (Battle Map) – This is the full version of Dome that you would find at the highest point in Al Mazrah. Expect plenty of narrow spaces and heights.
  • Al Malik International (Battle Map) – Another map from Al Mazrah, this area can be found at the southern tip of the Warzone 2 map. An airport is located here along with a wide open tarmac.

It’s unclear from the latest blog post whether we will get another map during the midseason update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 2. Considering there wasn’t anything listed, and these are all maps we’ve seen before, the idea of a third core map seems likely. We’ll have to wait and see what Infinity Ward has planned.
