You’ve done something awful and landed in Jail in Dragon’s Dogma 2. For shame, Arisen — you may find that you’ve gotten your proper comeuppance when you check your inventory and your items are missing.

Do You Lose Your Items When You Got to Gaol in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

For a moment, you may be panicking — you go to reequip yourself with all of your items, only to find nothing in your pack. You’ll be glad to know this won’t always be the case, no matter if you leave the Gaol by paying the bribe to the guards or breaking out on your own, you’ll get all of your items back. Even if you get caught while trying to break out the Walhdar in the Caged Magistrate quest for Brandt.

The first time that this happened to me, I was panicking as I didn’t want to lose all of my hard-earned items due to a silly mistake that I had made. I broke out and started scouring the Gaol for all of the items that I once had, only to find that as soon as I walked outside, I received all of my items back. Sure, I had to go through and reequip myself with all of my gear again, but it was a much better outcome than I originally imagined when I was tossed behind bars.

It doesn’t help with the brief heart attack that you’ll feel the first time when you check your bags, but it’s good to know that you’ll get all of your items and gold back. Thankfully, the guards won’t be able to steal your Jasper or Onyx if you’ve gotten tossed in a cell. You’ll just need to plan the most well-executed breakout possible — or fight your way out if you’re feeling brave without any gear.
