Does Spectre Divide Have Controller Support? – Answered

Controller support? In my tactical shooter?

Spectre Divide is finally available on PC as a free-to-play title and provides a tactical shooting experience similar to CS: GO and Valorant. It’s currently only available on PC, and similar to other titles in the genre, it requires fast reflexes and precise aiming. However, does Spectre Divide have controller support? Here is everything you need to know.

Does Spectre Divide Have Controller Support?

No, Spectre Divide does not have controller support on PC.

Since this isn’t a multi-platform title, providing controller support in a first-person competitive title would lead to a host of balancing issues, and provide keyboard and mouse users with an obvious edge over controller players. Similarly, if aim-assist is added to facilitate controller players, it would lead to similar balancing issues.

It makes sense for a PC-only title. The only way they could get around this is by offering controller players separate matchmaking, which is the case for a lot of other competitive multiplayer titles as well. Recently, XDefiant had Input-based matchmaking as well, which meant PC players could still use a controller and be matched with other controller players.

This isn’t a problem in more casual titles like Call of Duty, so there’s usually the option for keyboard and mouse players to match up with controller users. However, titles like Valorant, which is pretty similar to Spectre Divide, do not have controller support on PC. It does, however, support controllers on the console versions, for obvious reasons.

It’s possible that the developers will add support for controllers in the future and introduce separate matchmaking for controller users, but for now, Spectre Divide is a keyboard and mouse-only title.

Spectre Divide has a fun take on classes with its sponsors system, and we’re excited to see how the developers continue to support it after ranked matchmaking is finally added.
