The upcoming open-world survival game Palworld has gathered a lot of fans by delivering a respectable Pokemon (with guns) clone with even more underneath. It also delivers a multiplayer experience, but can players enjoy their own game all by themselves while offline?
Is There an Offline Mode for Palworld?
Palworld features both offline and online modes. Like the game they’ve been inspired by, you can enjoy a full adventure in a single-player mode without needing an internet connection, as stated in the game’s FAQ. In traditional survival game fashion, you’re free to have as many worlds as possible, and they can be either made alone or open to others.
From that logic, we can expect that everything available in multiplayer would still be there in single-player, with obvious exceptions being online activities such as participating in guilds and similar stuff. But regarding general content and available Pals, it should always be the same.
While online servers differ from offline ones, you can open your single-player world for other players to visit and travel alongside you in your Pal journey. They won’t be able to do the same, though, and these characters will be locked to your created world, which will now also be considered a multiplayer server.
While you currently cannot transfer your character save file to another world, this feature is stated to be planned for a future release. The game will still be on Early Access, so don’t expect it to be perfect immediately. Many improvements and fixes should still be around the corner for the game within a few months.
Palworld is set to be released on January 19th exclusively for PC, Xbox One, and Series X|S. While it could still take a bit longer until we see it in different consoles, it might not be impossible as other popular titles might also lose their exclusive status soon.
