Recent rumors have surfaced about Hi-Fi Rush possibly heading to the Nintendo Switch, leaving its exclusive status behind merely a year after its initial release. But are they reliable in any way or it is just some nonsense gossip?
Is Hi-Fi Rush Coming to Nintendo Switch?
After weeks of rumors and speculations, Hi-Fi Rush has now been confirmed to arrive on the Nintendo Switch, as well as other platforms. Initially a Microsoft exclusive, players from different consoles were unable to enjoy this ultra-charismatic musical adventure. It gained a lot of traction after being shadow dropped last year, but no mention of it eventually being released for other platforms has been made at the time.
Rumors started at the beginning of 2024, with one of its main sources being the Nate the Hate podcast, where one of its episodes mentioned that “Microsoft will bring one of their more acclaimed first-party games to a competitor’s system” during this year.
While the name wasn’t mouth-dropped, Nate later added that the title was met with high acclaim from both critics and fans, immediately sparking the musical 2023 title as one of the first games everyone thought about. It won 2023’s Best Audio Design while also being nominated for various categories like Best Action Game and Best Art Direction.
It didn’t take long until more leakers started affirming that Hi-Fi Rush will, indeed, be soon available on the Switch. Some well-known leak sources such as the ResetEra forums have reaffirmed the claims, so it might be a matter of time until we see Chai’s adventures on the portable too.
But it was only on February 21st, alongside various other big announcements such as Elden Ring’s DLC release date, that it was finally confirmed that Hi-Fi Rush, alongside some other popular Microsoft titles, will be hitting the Switch and many other platforms in the next few weeks.
And as mentioned, PS4 and PS5 will also be receiving these games. While in the past titles like Ori and the Will of the Wisps would be released for the Switch but never hit Sony consoles, things are quite different now. And it all looks like more games could probably see a Switch release just like other popular recent titles that may be available for the platform in the future.
