Can You Kill Your Companion in Starfield? – Answered

Why can't you just resist the urge, people? *Loads shotgun with malicious intent anyway*

As a Skyrim fan, I had flashbacks of Lydia dying permanently (we all know she was the best), so I wanted to make sure that doesn’t happen to me again in Starfield. That left me wondering, is it possible to kill your Companion, whether on purpose or accidentally, in Starfield? Here’s what you need to know.

Is it Possible to Permanently Kill Your Companion in Starfield?

No, you can’t kill Companions in Starfield, no matter how hard you try. The most that happens is that they’re downed and on their knees, crawling about for a short while before getting back up as if nothing happened.

So far, I haven’t been able to kill any of my available Companions, but if I manage to find one that’s killable, I’ll let you know. You can also check this very easily on your own by saving the game and unloading all wrath on the unsuspecting character, downing them, and then shooting them some more. No matter the outcome, you can reload, and it will be as if nothing has happened.

That’s all we know about the Companion-murdering tendencies you might be feeling in Starfield. If you dislike a certain Companion, you can dismiss them unless a quest requires their presence. This way, you can ask someone else to join you and don’t need to kill anyone.
