Most of the weapons in the submachine gun category are viable in Modern Warfare 2, but there aren’t many that play as well as the Vaznev-9k. This SMG extension of the Kastovia platform is a top-tier pick for close-quarters loadouts and it’s an easy option in competitive environments.
Even in public matches, the Vaznev-9k is a great way to counter the Kastov-74u counterpart as well as the Fennec. Any aggressive Call of Duty player will want this in their arsenal when it counts most. Our guide will go over the best loadout possible so that you always have a build at the ready.
Modern Warfare 2 – Best Vaznev-9k Loadout
In terms of gameplay, the Vaznev falls somewhere in between the 74u and the VEL 46. Base stats allow this submachine gun to hit hard and still maintain some great control. The attachments you need to capitalize on these stats are all listed below.
- Receiver: Vaznev-9k
- Barrel: KAS-1 381mm
- Muzzle: FTAC Castle Comp
- Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip
- Stock: Markeev R7 Stock
- Laser: Schlager PEQ Box IV
Like so many other classes in Modern Warfare 2, we want to focus on damage range and control with the barrel slot attachments. The KAS-1 381mm barrel and the FTAC Castle Comp muzzle will work in tandem to make the Vaznev more effective at nearly any range. Just don’t try to snipe with it.

Next, we move to the speed attachments, which include the True-Tac Grip and the Markeev R7 Stock. Of course, we need some ADS speed, and these attachments are perfect for that. Sprinkle in some sprint-to-fire speed as well and it’s hard to skip these on your loadout.
If you can get used to the iron sights, you have one more slot, and that goes to the Schlager PEQ BOX IV laser. This is just one more way to ensure your ADS speed is super fast and the only cost is a visible laser when aiming. But if you’re in close quarters, that won’t matter much.
