We have covered how to make the best loadout for weapons like the Vaznev-9k and the TAQ-56, but this guide is here to give you the best overall loadout in Ranked Play. That means all the pieces like perks and Field Upgrades that are so integral in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Most of the weapons and equipment found in the base game of MW2 are already banned in Ranked Play, so classes will not get very diverse in the competitive mode. That does not mean there is no room for change at all. We will cover weapon options, perks, and equipment you need for the best loadout possible.
COD MW2 Season 2 – Best Ranked Play
To kick off this guide, let us start off with some weapons. If you are looking for one staple loadout, then the Vaznev-9k and the TAQ-56 are the meta options. Which one you choose is really up to your play style. You can find all the necessary attachments below.
TAQ-56 Ranked Play Loadout:
- Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
- Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
- Rear Grip: FSS Combat Grip
- Stock: TV XLine Pro
- Ammunition: 5.56 Overpressured
Vaznev-9k Ranked Play Loadout:
- Barrel: None or KAS-1 381mm
- Muzzle: Bruen Pendulum
- Underbarrel: Agent Grip
- Rear Grip: True-Tac Grip
- Stock: Otrezat Stock
Pair either of these weapons with a knife as your secondary weapon. Knives allow you to run faster and can be easily swapped. Quickly swapping to a secondary that allows you to move quickly is integral for all three game modes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play.
Next, we need our perks which are fairly straightforward. Bomb Squad and Double Time are our standard perks that are always up. Then we want Fast Hands for faster reloads, equipment use, and weapon swapping. There are no Ultimate Perks allowed in CDL rules.

The last part of this MW2 Ranked Play loadout is the equipment. Stun Grenades are a given because Flash Grenades are banned. Then we use the Frag Grenade for the versatility of the explosives, but Semtex Grenades are a decent alternative. Dead Silence is also the way to go for a Field Upgrade in most cases. However, Trophy Systems are fantastic in modes like Hardpoint and Control. That option will change from match to match in MW2.
