Ranked Play has arrived in Modern Warfare 3 and there is no question that the MCW is the best weapon to use across the board. However, you need the right attachments to get the edge on your team and I have the best build for you to try out.

Modern Warfare 3 Ranked Play: Best Build for the MCW

The best attachments for the MCW are based around control with a sprinkle of ADS speed thrown in. There are tons of banned attachments in Ranked Play, but there are still plenty of them that don’t add too much of a mobility penalty while still turning the weapon into a laser beam. You can find the full build below.

Best MCW Loadout for MW3 Ranked Play

  • Barrel: 16.5″ MCW Cyclone Long Barrel
  • Muzzle: L4R Flash Hider
  • Underbarrel: XTEN Phantom-5 Handstop
  • Rear Grip: RB Claw-PSL Grip
  • Stock: RB Regal Heavy Stock

The most important piece of the puzzle here is the MCW Cyclone Long Barrel. Despite a small nerf, this still offers the best balance of mobility, control, and effective damage range when compared to other options. We also get a substantial boost to bullet velocity which means we don’t need to worry about changing ammo.

Next, I added the L4R Flash Hider and the Phantom-5 Handstop. I have sworn by these two attachments since the release of MW3 and they are coming back into the meta. The only real negative to the Phantom is a slight bump to horizontal recoil, which is about 1.2% more. In return, the weapon gets more control and more ADS speed. Then we can add a muzzle like the L4R that provides lower flash and plenty of control.

Both the Regal Stock and the Claw Grip are control-based as well. However, the Claw Grip doesn’t give any negative mobility stats. So that means only our stock and our barrel are slowing the weapon down in any form. You can always choose an optic instead of a rear grip, but it’s not required like the CDL. For that reason, I have been sticking with the iron sights.
