How to Get Past Bibberbang in Baldur’s Gate 3

When venturing through the Underdark, keep your eyes peeled for the large green fungus at the side of paths. Get too close to one, and it will detonate, filling a large area with toxic fumes. These fumes deal damage and will stay in the air permanently. To avoid the proximity trap of a Bibberbang, you can destroy it from a distance with ranged magic and spells, but be aware that this still creates a noxious fumes field.

If the noxious fumes are all that stand in your way, you can ignite them using any fire damage source, such as a spell or Alchemist’s Fire. This will cause the fumes to detonate, likely leading to a sympathetic detonation of all Bibberbang in the area. Eventually, the flames will clear, and you will be free to proceed.

There are, however, some situations where a massive detonation will destroy items or kill NPCs. In these cases, it is better to avoid triggering the Bibberbang. The best way to do this is to use teleportation magic, such as misty step, to avoid getting too close to the Bibberbangs. Just be careful where you reappear.

Another option is to use a character with a significant jump range and attempt to leap from safe point to safe point. If this isn’t available to you, you can always try dashing past them in turn-based mode and hope you get past them before they have a chance to explode.

Now that you know how to get past Bibberbang, and since you are already in the Underdark, why not find out how to get into the Arcane Tower?
