Where to Find More Camp Supplies in Baldur’s Gate 3

The three main ways to obtain more camp supplies in BG3 are to purchase some from merchants, loot defeated enemies, and search containers for items. All three sources provide you with supplies, from entire camp supply packages to small bits of food. However, buying them from shop owners requires spending money, while looting from corpses and chests does not guarantee you’ll get supplies every time.

As you play the game, eliminate more enemies, and pass by containers like chests, barrels, and crates, making a habit of looting them all will help you slowly gain supplies over time. While sometimes, you may find entire meals that provide a lot, you’ll often find small items like fish, meat, and vegetables. In particular, looting enemies like orcs and goblins frequently net you these small food items.

Fortunately, even though they don’t individually provide much supply value, they can easily make up a good chunk of your total stock. If you’re lucky, you may occasionally find a high-value food item or an entire supply pack.

Sometimes, they even appear right in the overworld for you to pick up, as shown in the screenshot below.

Where to Buy Camp Supplies in BG3

Alternatively, you can visit merchants in areas like Emerald Grove, Grymforge, and Last Light Inn to find camp supplies in their wares list. While it costs money to buy these, they’re a quick and easy way to get supplies if you’re running out and have some spare change.

You can purchase the camp supplies in many places, but the easiest is in the city. When taking a long rest in Baldur’s Gate at the camp resembling a cozy inn, visit Withers. Behind him is an interactable spot—a food elevator—where you can purchase one supply pack each night.

Tip:

Upon reaching level 11, the Heroes’ Feast spell for druids and clerics provides a substantial 46-58 worth of camp supplies, eliminating the need to search for food. This spell also grants a long-lasting buff until your next long rest.

How Camp Supplies are Used in BG3

Camp supplies are important items that you’ll use a lot. They are primarily used for long rests at camp. You’ll need 40/40 camp supplies to do a long rest, which must be made up of various food and/or drink items or a Camp Supply Bag. Some camp supplies have effects, which can be activated when a character consumes that food.

Tip:

A Supply Pack can help you meet the long rest requirement by itself. Here’s how Baldur’s Gate 3 describes it: “A collection of cured meats, dried fruits, kindling and anything else necessary to survive life on the road. Everything, down to the flint, smells distinctly of smoked ham.”
