Elden Ring is a new game, a popular game, a complicated game and an online game. You can certainly play Elden Ring in offline mode, but if you like to keep the game’s online features on, eventually you’ll hit a snag. Especially as the game is still new and being adjusted for feedback and bugs, there will be server maintenance, random errors and outages. But if you find yourself staring at a connection error message, you probably won’t see an explanation.

Currently, there doesn’t seem to be any specific tool to check Elden Ring’s server status. But that doesn’t mean you can’t look into problems. What Elden Ring does have is an official Twitter feed, which means any relevant information will show up there in chronological order, in real time. Crucially, you’ll find things like problem recognition and maintenance periods. So if there’s anything going on on Bandai Namco’s end, you’ll know as soon as they do.
That also means if there’s nothing there and you’re having issues, you’re gonna need to troubleshoot yourself. That just means to make sure not to forget the usual steps like rebooting your router, console, checking for updates, so on and so forth. The problem could also be a small hiccup or capacity thing; I’ve seen errors only to get in less than a minute later after a few tries.
Bandai Namco’s website also has a bespoke support page, where you can submit a ticket if needed. That’s also a good spot for additional info, like current known issues. If any of this stuff changes, we’ll make sure to provide an update. In the meantime, keep on Eldening those Rings.
