It’s recommended to use Berries to help catch the Ghost-type Pokémon you find, and try to make as many Nice Curveball throws as possible. This way, you can make some progress on the Spiritomb Limited Research tasks at the same time as you complete your Halloween Timed Research tasks.
How to Take a Snapshot of a Ghost-type Pokémon
You’ll have to take snapshots of Ghost-type Pokémon at different points during your quest to complete the Halloween Timed Research tasks. Taking a snapshot of a wild Ghost-type Pokémon will not count towards completing the research task. You need to take a snapshot of a Ghost-type Pokémon you’ve captured.
Luckily, the first time you’re required to take a snapshot of a Ghost-type Pokémon is starting with the second set of research tasks. If you’ve made it that far, that means you’ve already encountered Greavard from the previous set of research tasks. You can use your new Greavard to complete these tasks, or any Ghost-type Pokémon in your collection.
To take a snapshot of your Ghost-type Pokémon:
- Touch the Poké Ball icon at the bottom center of the screen, then go to “Pokémon” on the bottom left to open up your Pokémon storage.
- Navigate to the Ghost-type Pokémon you’d like to take a snapshot of. If you’re using your newly caught Greavard, press the circular icon in the bottom right of the screen and select “Recent” (pressing the icon once or twice, until the arrow next to it is pointing downwards). This will show you your most recently caught Pokémon first, and Greavard should be among them.
- When you’re on your Pokémon’s information page, press the camera icon in the upper right corner, underneath the star for favoriting Pokémon.
- You’ll receive a pop-up with information and warnings about AR mode.
- If you have AR mode on, you’ll have to slowly move your device back and forth until you see paw prints on the screen. Tap them to place your Pokémon in the environment. If you don’t have AR mode on, your Pokémon will automatically appear in the environment, centered and on a layer above everything around it.
- When you’re ready to take a snapshot, press the camera icon at the bottom of the screen (the left or right of the screen if you’ve rotated your device).
- When you’re done, press the square with an arrow icon at the top left of the screen to leave snapshot mode.
