How to Get Every New Weapon in Remnant 2: The Awakened King

In total, six weapons were added to Remnant 2 with the Awakened King DLC. Those weapons and how you get them are as follows:

  • Ritualist Scythe
    • Acquired through defeating both Befouled Altars in The Forgotten Commune, then inspecting the Scythe Hilt and adding the Scythe Blade.
  • Wrathbringer
    • Defeat the One True King at the end of the DLC without killing Nimue, then take the material you get to Ava McCabe in Ward 13.
  • Abyssal Hook
    • Found while exploring the Forlorn Coast, next to a white version of the Manticora enemy.
  • Monarch
    • Found when defeating the One True King after killing Nimue. Take the material he gives you to Ava McCabe in Ward 13 to get the weapon.
  • Sparkfire Shotgun
    • Acquired upon selecting the Ritualist Archetype as your starting Archetype with a new character.
  • Steel Scythe
    • Acquired upon selecting the Ritualist Archetype as your starting Archetype with a new character.

Which New Weapons Are Worth Using?

As for which of the new weapons you should use on your run, you can immediately cross out the Sparkfire Shotgun and Steel Scythe, as they’re both starter weapons. The Wrathbringer also isn’t great since it asks you to take damage to do damage. That leaves the Monarch, Abyssal Hook, and Ritualist Scythe. The Scythe and Abyssal Hook have their applications, but the Monarch is easily the best of the bunch.

The reason behind this choice is simple. The Monarch has the ability to fire homing rounds, which is less work on your end, along with applying buffs to you in the process. Sure, it’s a fast-fire rate weapon, meaning its damage per bullet is small, but the tradeoffs are well worth it. I’ll likely use the Monarch once I can get it up to the same level as my Nightfall.
