Remnant 2: How to Get the Ritualist Scythe Melee Weapon

Remnant 2’s The Awakened King DLC naturally adds a handful of new weapons to the game, with one standing out as unique above the rest. Here’s how to get the Ritualist Scythe melee weapon in Remnant 2.

Where to Find the Ritualist Scythe in Remnant 2

To get the Ritualist Scythe in Remnant 2, you’ll need to acquire the Scythe Blade and the Scythe Hilt. These two can be acquired by reaching the Forgotten Commune, a new side path added with the DLC. This may not be a possible spawn on your run of a Losomn district, so you may need to reroll until one of the side paths is the Forgotten Commune. If I were you, I’d keep checking the first side path on the Awakened King Adventure Mode scenario and resetting off that, since it’s quite close to spawn.

Once you do get the Forgotten Commune, clear out the zone. You’re looking for two Befouled Altars, marked by their signature purple glow. Both of these are found when exploring past the checkpoint surrounded by two doors. This is quite a difficult section, so make sure you have your best setup with you. For each of the two Befouled Altars you destroy, you’ll get either the Scythe Hilt or Scythe Blade. There will always be the two in the same locations, so you shouldn’t run into an issue where you only get one piece.

Once you have both pieces, inspect the Scythe Hilt and position it correctly so that an Interact prompt shows up, asking you to press a listed key. Press it, and the Scythe Blade will click into place. This will reward you with the Ritualist Scythe for use as a new melee weapon.

Is the Ritualist Scythe Worth Using?

The Ritualist Scythe is a fast-hitting melee weapon that sports the Reaver mod as an innate mod. This mod increases your Melee Damage by 10% if the target is suffering from a Negative Status Effect. Otherwise, a Mutator slot is open for whatever you might want. Given its perk, this weapon is similar to the Ritualist Archetype in that you should use it if you have a status effect build going already. Its fast hits mean you can consistently apply those status effects, and you get free damage for doing so.
