Bungie has outlined their upcoming Destiny 2 Eververse changes for a more player-friendly experience. Tess, it’s not us, it’s you, and we think it’s time to see other people. Or Bungie thinks it’s time to see other people, regardless – we need some space (heh, get it? Because it’s a space game? We’ll here all week).
Upcoming Destiny 2 Eververse Changes
When Destiny 2 first launched, it was a hotbed of controversy and backlash. Since then, several major overhauls have taken place including a total emancipation from Activision, the previous publisher. Since Bungie went solo, the quality of the game increased tenfold and the community of Guardians was active once more. But just because there were changes doesn’t mean there’s not still room for improvement as is evident in the studio’s recent Eververse change revelation.
In this week’s developer update, Bungie’s Luke Smith carefully broached the Eververse topic but talking about the upcoming Season 12 changes. In his update, Smith mentioned that they are doing away with selling ships, sparrows, ornaments, and Ghost cosmetics in the in-game store that are inspired by “Aspirational Activities.” So what are Aspirational Activities, exactly? Here’s what you need to know:
- Dungeons
- Raids
- Trials
Guardians know that there have been a lot of changes to how Bright Dust works in the game as well since launch. Currently, Bright Dust can be used to purchase certain items in the store like Exotic skins, shaders, and sparrows and now the Bungie team is making it even easier to earn this specific type of currency. Even better? Not only will Bright Dust be easier to earn but it will also come in higher quantities as well, giving players apt chance to earn this particular currency no matter how much time they devote to Destiny 2.
Between the Eververse changes and the confirmation that Bungie is working towards Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 compatibility, it’s clear that the Destiny 2 journey is far from over and we can’t wait to see where Bungie goes next now that they are once more in full control of their own property.
