The Chain Reaction bounty is key for the Destiny 2 Guardian Games going on now, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy! Here’s what you need to know in order to complete the Destiny 2 Chain Reaction bounty and why it’s worth it for those looking to get this done quickly.

How to complete the Destiny 2 Chain Reaction bounty

When this particular bounty was first released, it was a little buggy – not so much as in totally broken, but there were issues regarding Nighstalker hunters. Luckily, Bungie was aware of this and made an addendum in their most recent developer update. According to the studio,  “Nightstalker Hunters using the Way of the Pathfinder must defeat groups of at least five tethered enemies twice. This count will reset when the Shadowshot Super is activated, so if a player is wearing Moebius Quiver it will reset their count every time they fire Shadowshot.”

Sounds specific? It is, but here’s what else you need to know about Chain Reaction. Some Guardians were a bit confused when it came down to this bounty’s wording and what actually needs to be done in order to complete it. According to the official description, “As a Nightstalker using Way of the Pathfinder, defeat groups of at least 5 tethered enemies.” Some who thought they were doing this but not getting the progress thought it was completely glitched out and it turns out that’s not the case, it’s just a little more specific.

Taking in the additional commentary that was presented from Bungie following this bounty going live, Guardians should group anywhere between 10-25 enemies together in order to get this done fast. You’re going to want to eliminate them fast as well, here are the best ways to do just that:

Level 1 Escalation Protocol

Braytech Futurescape on Mars

The Shuro Chi encounter

The Last Wish Raid found in the Dreaming City

Kingship Doc Lost Sector

Found on the Tangled Shore

Protocols

When needing to mass kill, Escalation Protocols are the way to go. It’s an easy way to rapid-fire enemies while ensuring that there is a mob quality to the foes in those crosshairs. For level one of Escalation Protocol, you’re going to want to head over to the Braytech Futurescape and active the plate seen in the northwestern part of this area. From there, you’re going to wait until the Thrall spawn and make sure to group them all together for a multi-takedown. You’re also going to want to do this instance alone, if possible, so the kill credit for all enemies goes solely to you for this bounty.

Once an enemy group is formed up, fire your tether near them and then the additional five tethers to take them out quickly. If you go the Protocol route, prepare for having to run this several times in order to get the enemies credited.

Last Wish

Don’t worry, you don’t need to do the whole raid in the traditional sense to use this way to farm kills, though it’s definitely not the easiest option out of the three. To use this method, start the encounter to trigger the powerful Taken. Group them up, tag ’em and bag ’em and repeat as necessary. We also recommend utilizing a raid banner to power that ult for more powerful attacks and a more encompassing combat strategy.

Lost Sectors

The Kingship Dock Lost Sector is a pretty easy way to tether enemies as well. While not the enemy output that Protocols has, it at least is set up in a way where farming is easily done since it’s a repeatable action as well. Lost Sectors, all of them, are a pretty solid means to taking on specific bounties like this where multi-kills are key. Just remember, you’re likely to not have everything you need in one go, so make sure you set aside some time in order to get this medal to turn into Eva.
