Mario Kart 8 is still going. The newest Nintendo Direct has revealed the next Booster Course Pass content. Wave 6, also known as The Final Wave, is bringing returning tracks from previous Mario Kart titles, as well as some expected (and unexpected) characters as racers.
One of the most popular titles in the series is getting some good representation, with the Daisy Circuit making its return. Initially introduced in Mario Kart Wii, the track is back to close out the more-than-extended pack for the now best-selling game in the franchise. But not without some new (and returning) racers to hit its roads. Instead of the expected two, they went the extra mile to get us four new characters.
We’re also getting Funky Kong as a racer from the same title. The objectively more stylish Kong of the batch is now available for racing, but he’s not the only new monkey in town. Coming all the way from Mario Kart Double Dash for the GameCube, Diddy Kong is back! Donkey Kong’s reliable friend is ready to enter the races too, but they’re not all that we’re getting.
As some were already expecting, Pauline is also returning. She made her debut in the series in the Mario Kart Tour title, and it was just a matter of time until she was added to the definitive Mario Kart game that 8 has aspired (and succeeded) to become. But there’s also someone else from that same game.
Get ready for more Super Crown memes, as Peachette is here. Also included in Mario Kart Tour, she now acts as the final racer in the game for a while, but given how long Mario Kart 8 has been around, I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s not the final character released in the game just yet since it still sells like water. No need to fix what’s not broken, right?
Mario Kart Deluxe 8 Booster Course Pass Wave 6 is out this Holiday and is available at no additional cost to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.
