Nintendo treated us to new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe information this morning in the form of a trailer highlighting the tracks coming in the second wave of DLC. While fan favorites such as Waluigi Pinball and Mushroom Gorge are welcome additions, the video also gave us a look at a brand new track, Sky-High Sundae.
If you’re a fan of Sweet Sweet Canyon’s aesthetic, it looks like you’ll enjoy Sky-High Sundae as well. Though we only get a brief glimpse of gameplay from the reveal trailer, it’s enough to give an idea of what to expect.
Mario Kart 8 Sky-High Sundae Course
At a glance, there seems to be a good amount of verticality, as we can see racers going up a giant semi-circle of ice cream cones and leaping onto ice cube trays. The track also appears to host a number of jumps that link one side of the course to the other, meaning we can expect to frequently be hopping across various frozen desserts. One side of Sky-High Sundae houses an ice cream bar filled with Shy Guys and Toads happily eating ice cream while watching us race through.
Racers will then hit a gliding segment, which leads us through an area of ice cream stalls managed by differently-colored Yoshis. If you look to the right, you’ll see them when you power-slide through the area and up some stairs to the next part of the track. As the course’s name suggests, we also appear to be quite high in the air, so be mindful not to fall off.

Overall, Sky-High Sundae sports a bright, colorful, and delicious landscape. Luckily, you won’t have to wait long to play it yourself, as the new courses will be available on August 4.
