Black Ops II Multiplayer Will Not Have Reset Stats For Release Tomorrow

If you got the game early, you won't be punished for it.

The good news, for some of you anyway, is that some copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II are already in the wild, ahead of its official release in stores tomorrow.  But don’t worry, if you’ve been indulging in multiplayer and going at it leveling up like crazy, you won’t be punished when the game releases tomorrow.

Treyarch has confirmed that it will NOT reset multiplayer stats for the “clean slate” when the game arrives, with game design director David Vonderhaar confirming it on Twitter.  In fact, the only way you’ll be affected is if you’re a “bad person doing bad things,” such as taking advantage of technical perks or hacking someone’s multiplayer game.

Relax, you can keep your numbers going and pretend you have an advantage over the rest of the hardcore Black Ops gaming community.  It’ll just take a couple of heated matches to wake you up otherwise.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II hits stores tomorrow for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3, and November 18th for Wii U.
