The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla world premiere is here and confirms the epic return of the iconic Hidden Blade. The previous two games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise didn’t have this instantly recognizable weapon, at least until DLC, because both Odyssey and Origins were meant to be prequels to the brotherhood’s formation. While understandable, it doesn’t mean people didn’t miss driving that blade into an enemy’s throat, so when this iconic piece of weaponry made its OH WOW debut in the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla trailer, fans went wild!
The entire sequence above shows off the Viking numerous British invasions known throughout history but the ending of this video? The ending is where the magic happens. After a grueling battle seen in the video above, the main protagonist can be seen with the predictable axes as known for this culture, but what was the kicker was when the combat became very close quarters and this dude just up and stabbed his enemy with that glorious hidden blade like the badass he is! It was an incredible way to confirm the return of the hidden blade and if that sequence didn’t get you hyped, I don’t know what will.
This was meant to be a teaser of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla so we don’t have specifics about the game quite yet, nor do we have the confirmation on whether or not this title will offer protagonist options like Odyssey did. What we did get, however, is more of an idea about the game’s settings, how combat will work, and that it is confirmed for a Holiday 2020 release for both this generation and the generation ahead.
