Alan Wake 10-Year Anniversary Celebration Plans Announced by Remedy

It's time to celebrate the criminally underrated game that was Alan Wake from Remedy Entertainment.

Alan Wake was a criminally underrated game from Remedy Entertainment that, while revered, didn’t get the bright future it deserved. While there are no new Alan Wake 2 announcements on the horizon, the studio is celebrating the game’s 10-year anniversary with a special livestream and a few planned surprises.

The studio behind the psychological thriller took to Twitter to tease their upcoming plans to celebrate all things Alan Wake:

Before anyone gets too excited, the team previously mentioned that though they would love to pursue a sequel, it just didn’t work out that way. “We were working on Alan Wake 2 years ago and it just didn’t pan out, so there’s nothing – we’re just booked solid for the next couple of years, really,” said Tomas Puha in an earlier interview. “We do own the Alan Wake IP, but it’s never quite as simple as that, but yeah, we do own it.”

That being said, there is a lot to celebrate about this particular adventure and we can’t wait to see what sort of surprises the team has during their reveal. It’s possible that the devs might share some never-before-seen footage or concept art from the scrapped sequel, though they did clarify that there are no announcements planned, so again – adjust those sequel reveal expectations otherwise you’ll just be disappointed and not be able to enjoy what the team does have to offer.

While we never got to see an Alan Wake 2, fans did see a spin-off with Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, but it just wasn’t the same especially when looking at that insane cliffhanger the first title left off on. Alan Wake is one of my persona favourite horror experiences of all time so I feel that disappointment that the future of this franchise seems dead but who knows what the future will bring? Crazier things have happened!
