Best Black Friday Deals for Horror Game Fans

We’re truly living in the golden age of horror gaming. Some of the classics are getting remade, and every year we’re seeing triple A releases and indie game knockouts. That makes this Black Friday particularly sweet if you’re looking to add another horrifying game to your library.

This list endeavors to show a wide variety of horror game types, at varying price ranges, in order to please even the most particular ghoulish palettes.

Demonologist (PC) – $10.49

If you’re a fan of Phasmophobia, Demonologist is a recently released game that might be for you. This co-op game has you identify evil spirits in cursed places and exorcise them, either alone or with your team. And it is terrifying.

But what makes it different from Phasmophobia, beyond some bells and whistles like customization and interesting equipment, is that you can actually banish the ghost. This gives each mission a satisfying conclusion.

Demonologist has Very Positive reviews on Steam, numbering in the 10,000’s.

Fears to Fathom – Ironbark Lookout (PC) – $5.99

Fears to Fathom is an episodic psychological horror game which is inspired by allegedly true stories submitted to the developers. And this latest installment has you taking on the role of a park ranger in a park where people keep vanishing.

Fears to Fathom is fantastic and building dread and weaving an interesting narrative that will keep you rooted to your PC monitor. And the game is exceptionally cheap and well-reviewed, with enough content to make the buy worthwhile. Its gameplay isn’t that hard, either.

Fears to Fathom – Ironbark Lookout has Very Positive reviews on Steam, numbering in the 1,000’s.

Resident Evil 4 (Xbox, PC, PS4, PS5) – $39.59

If you’re one of the twelve people who hasn’t played Resident Evil 4 yet, now’s the time to finally bite that bullet. Resident Evil 4 follows Leon, who is determined to rescue the president’s daughter from a secluded European village. But they won’t let her go without a fight.

Resident Evil 4 received no shortage of acclaim when it first released, with its high-quality graphics and combat. And now, it’s 30% off.

Resident Evil 4 has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam, numbering in the 66,000’s.

Slay the Princess (PC) – $10.49

Slay the Princess is a game that’s best discovered on your own. It’s a grim visual novel that’s clever, well written, and entirely dictated by you. There are no forced choices here. What you decide really matters, and it shapes the conclusion you’ll see. But half the fun is playing it over and over again and seeing all of its horrifying iterations.

Slay the Princess has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam, numbering in the 4000’s.

Yuppie Psycho (PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One) – $6.79

If you like your horror with a shot of humor, then Yuppie Psycho is for you. This stylistic game crosses a corporate office with occultism and surreal imagery. And you, a corporate drone, must find out what’s rotting the core of your new workplace. Beyond the usual suspects, of course.

This is a fantastic and fun indie game. And if you enjoy this title, it’s a good idea to keep an eye on their developers, Baroque Decay, as they’ve just unveiled the trailer to their newest game.

Yuppie Psycho has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam, numbering in the 5,000’s.

The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation (PC, PS4, PS5) – $13.39

It is criminal that this game is so unheard of. But this is a fantastic game if you really like the Asian horror genre. There’s a terrifying spirit hellbent on revenge, a dark backstory, possession, rituals, and buckets of visceral dread.

Technically, it’s based on a very middling movie. But you can go into this game without ever having watched it. And there’s so much content! It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like movies like Ju-on (The Grudge), Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, and Shutter, you’ll definitely enjoy this game.

The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation has Very Positive reviews on Steam, numbering in the 1,000’s.

Dead by Daylight (Xbox, PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch) – $7.99

Dead by Daylight has been my go-to horror game for years. It’s an asymmetrical multiplayer game that puts you in the shoes of a killer or survivor, where your goals are simple. Either you must kill everyone or escape the trial with your life.

Beyond the cooperative appeal, Dead by Daylight hosts some of the most iconic killers and survivors in horror history. We have Michael Myers, Pyramid Head, Nicolas Cage. You name it, there’s a good chance that they’re there. It’s also just a fun game, whether you like to queue up solo or with some buddies.

Tip:

Dead by Daylight is on PS4 and PS5, but it’s not on sale in this store. Sorry, PlayStation fans.

Dead by Daylight has Very Positive reviews on Steam, numbering in the 500,000’s.
