5 Best Gold-Making Professions in World of Warcraft The War Within

Make it rain gold!

The World of Warcraft: The War Within has several gold-making potential in this expansion’s profession round-up. Several changes had a ton of impact on the market, such as the requirement of being a Tailor to get cloths to drop and more. Some of the professions remain in the same boat as they were in Dragonflight, but there are some clear winners here. Here are the best gold-making professions in WoW: TWW.

Alchemy

Like in all expansions, Alchemy has always been a go-to for money-making, but it involves a lot of micromanaging and calculations. Alchemy makes the most useful consumables in endgame content, such as flasks and potions. It is almost mandatory for players to have them when they are pushing through hard content.

You want to buy herbs at “X” price and sell them at “Y” price, where X is the cheapest point you can buy herbs in bulk in the auction house, and Y is the price you need to sell the flasks and potions to make a profit. In most cases, buying herbs and crafting flasks will always be in the negative. But, this is because of the crafting system, which allows you to get useful stats such as “Multicraft” and “Resourcefulness” and make a ton of gold from these processes.

Inscription

Inscription is in a tough spot, but only because the money-making aspect of the profession is mostly during the early stages of the expansion or a major patch. This is because Inscription’s main way of making gold is through Darkmoon Decks, crafting contracts, and making Vantus runes.

Darkmoon Decks are typically “placeholder” trinkets during the early stages of an expansion to help boost players to get to harder content. They can sell like hotcakes, especially considering they aren’t consumables.

Contracts are also a big money-maker as players look to increase their reputation or renown as fast as possible. These contracts give players a reputation or renown boost for finishing world quests for a whole week. Players will eat these contracts up until they max out their renown, rendering contracts useless in the future.

The sustainable income from Inscription is through Vantus runes. Just like potions and flasks, Vantus runes help players get some added secondary stats in raids. However, these runes last for a week, so they are less consumed.

Jewelcrafting

Jewelcrafting is the most consistent money-making profession in WoW: TWW. It is better or tied with Alchemy. Jewelcrafters always make gold by crafting the best gems in the game. Every player needs gems on their gear, and if they replace that said gear, they’ll need more gems. In short, it is an endless cycle of gems for all the players, and Jewelcrafters will always capitalize on selling these gems to them.

The concentration mechanic makes the Jewelcrafting market more stable as it limits the overproduction of high-quality gem crafts, making it an easy way for any player to make gold.

Fishing

While there are many no-brainer gathering professions like Herbalism, Mining, and Skinning, fishing is almost always overlooked. It is one of the most tedious ways of making money because you are… fishing.

However, fish is one of the main sources of players to cook food with Cooking. These foods also require meat, but some players will just buy these at the auction house along with fish. Food provides buffs to all players regardless of their class and role. It is one of the most consumed buffs in the game and they always sell in bulk.

Enchanting

When it comes to Enchanting, it is either the worst gold-making profession or the best. It depends on your activity in playing WoW. The main source of income from enchanters are weapons and ring enchants. Enchanters get their own materials by disenchanting gear. If you run a ton of mythic+ dungeons and raids in a week, you’ll make thousands of gold just by playing and disenchanting gear you don’t need.

If you are going for any profession on the list that crafts a lot of items, you should get the TSM or TradeSkillMaster addon to help you keep track of your expenses and profit.
