Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Remastered has fans of all ages caught up in a hype that makes us feel like it’s 1999 again! While many of us have been dedicating time to rewatching the trailer and listening to the beloved OST, one young fan tracked down a Fedex driver to deliver a message to THE pro skater himself: Tony Hawk. The result? A story that makes us feel good all the way down to our toes.

The feel-good journey began when Twitter user ‘estepanilaa_’ shared a TikTok from ‘fresh2deaf’. The video in question was of a Fedex driver showing off a gift that one fan wanted Hawk himself to receive. The delivery person mentioned that the kid rushed over to him excitedly and offered up a well-loved skateboard, asking the man to “take this to Tony Hawk for me, tell him it’s from Cooper.” The original poster tagged Tony Hawk himself to relay the message and the response reminds us why we love him so much:

Hawk responded by making his own video, thanking the original poster for the shoutout and announcing that he was going to private message his address so that Cooper could have his wish granted. With Hawk mentioning that Cooper’s gift is “already on the way,” he also took a moment to show off his current board mentioning that he was sending a Cooper a gift of his own.

As a huge skate fan myself (in High School I was convinced I was going to be a pro skater), this type of exchange seems simple but it is so sweet and wholesome. There is so much bad news, constantly, and a lot of fear and greed, so stories like this that show the good side of people, of community – it’s phenomenal.

Hawk, keep being amazing. Cooper, never stop chasing those dreams. Everyone else, we hope this story made you feel good like it did for us.
