Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is coming out this September, ready to deliver equal amounts of nostalgia bombs and sick kickflips to an eager audience. Unfortunately, there are a few elements of the package that aren’t coming back. Here are the songs on the Pro Skater soundtrack that won’t be on the remastered versions this fall.
Original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Songs That Won’t Be In the Remaster
Activision had confirmed shortly after the announcement of the remaster that “most of” the songs on the Pro Skaters’ soundtracks would come back. This morning, the THPS remaster team announced via Twitter that they’d put a soundtrack playlist up on Spotify. From that, we now have an idea of what Activision meant: there are 12 songs–8 from THPS1 and 4 from THPS2–that aren’t on the playlist. Many of them are available elsewhere on Spotify, so that’s not the issue. It’s generally being taken as an early hint as to what will and won’t be playing while you shred through the remasters.
Missing songs from Pro Skater 1:
- Aim featuring YZ, “Ain’t Got Time to Waste”
- Aquasky, “Blue Thunder”
- Evenrude, “Vilified”
- Grand Unified, “Le Hot”
- Speedealer, “Screamer,” “Nothing to Me”
- Suicidal Tendencies, “Cyco Vision”
- Unsane, “Committed”
Missing songs from Pro Skater 2:
- Alley Life featuring Black Planet, “Out With the Old”
- Anthrax and Chuck D, “Bring the Noise”
- Born Allah, “City Star”
- High & Mighty featuring Yasiin Bey & Mad Skillz, “B-Boy Document ’99”
This may not necessarily mean that these songs are gone for good, though. The THPS remaster team’s original tweet was posted alongside a promotional image of the “Hawk Mix” (see below): a big stack of hand-labeled blank CDs, because 1999 was 21 years ago. My old CD drive is officially retro kitsch. Frankly, I didn’t need to hear that today, but let’s move on.
If you read the bands listed on the spines of the CDs in the Hawk Mix photo, Evenrude and Speedealer are listed there but aren’t on the playlist. It’s anyone’s guess what that means, whether it’s down a lack of communication between members of the marketing team to rights issues to the fact that everyone in Evenrude seems to have dropped off the face of the Earth at some point in the mid-2000s. (Seriously, they had some fans. You’d think they’d be touring.) It’s probably safest to not take the Spotify playlist as gospel just yet. Also, there’s no gospel on it, so that was a weird choice of words. Never mind.
Personally, I’m holding out for the return of the real star of Pro Skater 2:
It’s been a big news day here at Prima. Check out some of our other articles and guides:
- The big Doom Eternal update came with a Denuvo anti-cheat chaser, which no one is happy about
- There’s a new documentary on the making of Alan Wake, so now we know why it took forever

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remasters could only be improved by the addition of more superheroes. If the MCU’s made Spider-Man too expensive, you could at least grab Night Thrasher. He’s alive again now, you know. Tell us about your favorite skateboarding superheroes via our official Twitter, @PrimaGames.
