Opening the Cheat Console in The Sims 4 is pretty straightforward. To do so:

  • Ctrl+Shift+C on PC/Windows
  • Ctrl+Shift+C on Mac
  • Hold R1, R2, L1 and L2 simultaneously on PlayStation
  • Hold RB, RT, LB, and LT simultaneously on Xbox

Once the Cheat Console is open, type in testingCheats true. To turn cheats off, type the same thing but replace “true” with “false” or “off” and they’ll be disabled.

Then, to enable Free Build in The Sims 4, type in: bb.enablefreebuild. You can also have fun with FreeRealEstate On (or Off when you are done) which removes the costs associated with building your house so you can go wild with any modification you desire.
