The Library can be found on the third floor of Shujin Academy – this is where free books can be obtained.

You can also fast travel to the Library, but you might need to visit before fast travel is available for use. However, personally, I was able to fast travel to the Library despite never previously entering it.

How to Rent Books at the Library in Persona 5 Royal

Talk to the Student Librarian to the left, near the door where you enter. Ignore the shelves, as you will find nothing, but commentary from Morgana.

Through talking with the Student Librarian, you will be provided with a selection of books that can be obtained. However, you may only choose one book at a time. Once you have made your decision, pick the book you wish to check out.

Once you have chosen a book, it will be added to your inventory. With this reading material, when you are commuting via the subway in the morning, you will have the ability to gain knowledge, rather than watching Joker sit and twiddle his thumbs.
