Gamescom opening day is officially over and one of the showcases’ offerings including a new look at Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the latest expansion coming to the Bungie shooter later this year. The latest Beyond Light look dives deeper into the new Stasis subclass with some sweet new gameplay.
The latest gameplay look goes into the new Statis subclass that offers players a new skill to dominate when taking on both PvE and PvP. Take a look at the trailer below to see the new subclass in action:
As with previous expansions, Beyond Light will offer new gear to earn, new skills to master, and a new story for players to dive into, though this is the first expansion to offer a new class entirely. The return of Exo Stranger is a huge deal as well, especially for those hardcore Destiny 1 fans enjoying the sequel.
“A new power is born out of the ancient Pyramid Ship above Europa’s frozen frontier, and a dark empire has risen beneath, united under the banner of the Fallen Kell of Darkness, Eramis,” Bungie previously mentioned about the upcoming expansion. “Join your fellow Guardians and bring down the empire at any cost – even if it means wielding the Darkness itself.”

Stasis is going to be something entirely new for Guardians to master, an elemental power that will be another option alongside the Solar, Void, and Arc classes. Like the other classes, Statis will have branching mechanics for Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters, each with a unique mastery for each type of player.
