Quite a few games are getting the TV show treatment as of late and among them is none other than the nostalgic cartoon-inspired Cuphead. Netflix just dropped a behind-the-scenes video of the upcoming Cuphead Show, showing off what fans can expect and exactly what sort of work goes into a project like this.

The below video highlights amazing concept art, how the game impacts the show and other delicious details about what this new endeavor will entail. The one thing still missing, however, is a release date. Though the announcement for the Netflix Cuphead Show went live last year, there hasn’t been any indication as to when fans can expect this new experience. The good news is that Netflix added the connotation of “coming soon,” which breeds hope that it will drop sooner rather than later.

According to the executive producer for King Features CJ Kettler, the team is looking to give the Cuphead narrative something new and fresh for the pair while staying true to the stylization and progression that so many fell in love with. “The character-driven comedy follows the unique misadventures of the impulsive Cuphead and his cautious but easily swayed brother Mugman,” was what Netflix first had to say about the reveal back in 2019. “Through their many misadventures across their surreal home of the Inkwell Isles, they’ve always got one another’s backs.”

It will be interesting to see the show in this format. Since the game itself was inspired by a nostalgia felt from older cartoons, seeing it come full circle is interesting to see. This is one of several game adaptations in the works over at Netflix, including a Devil May Cry adaptation that doesn’t have any release information either.

Currently, the Netflix Cuphead Show is still without a release date, but hopefully we’ll be learning more “soon” as the latest inside look suggests.
