Joy in Suffering Destiny 2 Guide – Exotic Weapon

The Joy in Suffering quest is part of the Pain and Gain Exotic questline which you’ll have to complete in order to actually get your hands on Riskrunner. You get this from speaking to Banshee-44, and you’ll be told that there’s a weapon frame that you’re gonna have to fix. Joy in Suffering is the very first step of the quest, so here’s what you’re going to have to do to complete it:

  1. Finish a Lost Sector in the European Dead Zone
  2. Finish a Heroic public event
  3. Finish a Nightfall Strike

In case you’re having some trouble waiting for a public event to come around with the right criteria, we can recommend kicking around the Tangled Shore or Titan for a little bit. There’ll be plenty to do, you just have to make sure that when events spawn, you’re carrying out the right actions to ensure that they become Heroic. Once you’ve managed to clear your Heroic event, you’ll be able to progress on to the next step which will involve the Nightfall strike. It doesn’t matter which Nightfall strike you choose to complete, as long as you get one done.

After this, you just have to turn in the quest and pick up the next part of the Pain and Gain Exotic questline for Riskrunner. Once this has been completed, you’ll be able to net yourself the SMG of your dreams. We reckon it’s pretty great since it possesses the following notable perk: Arc Conductor – if you’re taking Arc damage, the weapon becomes more powerful and starts to resist it. Kills will make this effect last longer.
