Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Suthorn Ruins Dungeon Walkthrough

One down, seven to go.

The Suthorn Ruins Dungeon is the first one you will explore in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Since it’s the first, it’s also one of the shortest. But the Suthorn Ruins still has its fair share of puzzles and two bosses to defeat. Here, you will find the entire Suthorn Ruins Dungeon walkthrough from start to finish.

How to Get to Suthorn Ruins in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Suthorn Stilled Forest

The Suthorn Ruins is a sprawling dungeon that consists of two floors and two bosses. But to get there, you must first traverse the Suthorn Stilled Forest. You have to traverse a Stilled level before every dungeon before reaching the dungeon itself. You can find the entrance to the Suthorn Stilled Forest in the upper left corner of the Suthorn Forest.

Interact with the glowing yellow circle to create a portal. Enter that to start your journey through the Suthorn Stilled Forest.

Head right, jumping across the platforms to reach a cave entrance. Once inside the cave, head right over the platforms and step on the white button to unlock the door on the left side of the room. Jump back across to head through the door to find yourself in a room full of Still Zols. Defeat them all using your own Echoes and pass through the next door to reach the forest outside again.

If you want, you can take the platforms on the right to find a Blue Rupee and the platforms to the southwest to get a Purple Rupee. Otherwise, take the northwest path to reach the entrance to the Suthorn Ruins.

When you enter the dungeon, your first port of call is to activate the fast-travel point. Then, head straight forward into the dungeon proper.

Your first obstacle is a giant boulder. Target it with ZL and press X to use Tri’s bind ability. Move it to the large pit and release it so it falls right into the abyss, clearing your path to the next button. Head over to the button and step on it to unlock the door on the right.

Bind Tri to the next boulder and move it to the left to reveal a ladder. Before you head down there, bind Tri to the boulder once again, jump to raise the boulder over the lip of the pit it’s in, and use it to bridge the gap in the path along the back wall. Run up the ramp and into the door on the left. Bind Tri to the buried chest and pull it out to collect some butter.

Head back into the room with the ladder and climb down. Start making your way along the web vines and ladders to the right. Make sure to kill a Strandtula while you’re here. You can use them to make vines that you can climb to reach high ledges! Use one to climb up to the chest on the right side of the room and collect the Dungeon Map.

Climb up the ladder on the right side of the cavern and use Tables or other Echoes to reach the door on the left. Head left and up to find an elevator that will take you to the second floor.

Take the path on the left to find a room with a solitary ladder inside it. Climb down to find another cavern.

Your goal here is to light all of the braziers using Ignizol Echoes. The first one is just below the ladder you climbed to reach the cavern. The second is up the ladder on the right. Smash the boxes to reach it and light the brazier to unlock the path on the right. Climb up the ladder and activate the waypoint before using Bind to wrench the golden shield from the statue’s hands on the right side of the room.

Head through the unlocked door and turn left to find a chest behind a large wall. Use a Strandtula to get over the wall and reach the chest before making your way up the hall to fight Sword Link. Sword Link can be a tough battle, especially since you’ve only got three hearts at that point. Check out our Sword Link Boss Guide for tips on how to beat him and get your hands on his sword.

Use the sword to slash the purple muck blocking your exit and climb down the ladder to the very bottom. Bind the giant boulder and drag it into the small pit on the left. Climb back up the ladder and jump across the boulder to reach the chest on the other side. Open it to collect the Heart Pin and make your way down the ladder on the right side of the room to head back to the first floor.

The next room has an open door to the left, a locked door to the right, and the boss door straight ahead. Activate the waypoint so you can warp back here later before heading in the open door on the left.

This room has two Deku Babas to defeat, one of which is hidden behind the same purple muck you had to destroy to reach this level. Kill the Deku Babas to unlock the doors and head left. Bind the green statue in the middle of the room and climb up the ramp to get it up to the high ledge. Then drop back down and to the right to place the statue on the button, clearing your way to the Purple Rupee inside the chest.

Make your way back into the central room and head north to find a Deku Baba sitting on a pedestal behind a grate. Bind it and walk backward to pluck it out of the ground and reveal the next chest containing a Silver Key. Make your way back to the room with the boss door and open the door on the right.

Bind the statue on the right side of the room and place it on the green tile along the back wall. The statues should form a square. When they do, the grate will open, clearing your way so you can climb down the ladder. Use the platforms to make your way through the room. You can press R while bound to something to follow it!

Bind the statue in the next room and create a step ladder to place it on the button on the left. Collect the key and warp back to the boss door to defeat the Suthorn Ruins Dungeon Boss, the Seismic Talus. The Seismic Talus is an even more formidable foe than Sword Link was, so check out our Seismic Talus Boss Guide for tips if you’re struggling!

Once the Seismic Talus has been felled and Tri’s friends released, your first Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom dungeon will be complete. You can then head to the Gerudo Sanctuary Dungeon to clear yet another Rift in Hyrule.
