Death Must Die can get you hooked faster than expected thanks to its chill gameplay filled with elements from other successful roguelites. It’s also a game that you would probably expect to see landing on the Nintendo Switch anytime soon, especially with how many indies the console has.
Is Death Must Die Available on Switch?
As of now, Death Must Die is not yet on the Nintendo Switch and it’s exclusive to Steam. The game is still fairly recent and is currently in its Early Access release state, so the official build is not complete just yet. Many updates are still coming regularly to the game, and new content should be added periodically. For that reason, we’ll probably not be seeing it being released on any other platform so soon.
There haven’t been any announcements for console releases as of now either, but considering how big the Switch library of indie games is, it’s very much possible that the Nintendo console will receive its own port in the future when the game is complete. This could be years from now, though, so don’t get your hopes that high.
When Will Death Must Die Early Access End?
The Steam page for Death Must Die indicates that it will remain in Early Access for a minimum of one year. This means that a console port is unlikely within this timeframe.
The game is still quite new, so most updates will probably be focused on perfecting what’s already released and creating new content, such as more bosses, Blessings, equipment and maybe even more characters to play with.
If you really wanna hit some skeletons on a portable device, playing it on the Steam Deck might be your best choice for now. The game’s currently pretty stable on the device, despite a few hiccups here and there on certain parts, but that’s nothing that really stops you from having some good overall runs when compared to the usual PC port.
