How to Clear Aether Nests & Infested Strongholds in MW3 Zombies

Aether Nests and Infected Strongholds are both cleared out using the same strategy. First, players should have gas masks equipped within these buildings. It is not required but will be helpful unless you or your team can be extremely quick about it.

The next and last step is to shoot all the glowing cysts on the walls and ceilings. Popping all these bright cysts will bring the building back to normal, and players can loot the special chests inside.

The difference between the nests and the strongholds is that the strongholds are bigger buildings and will most likely contain a tough enemy such as a Mimic. Nests are usually only a few rooms, while strongholds can have at least two floors of rooms to clear out.

How to Find Aether Nests & Infested Strongholds in MW3 Zombies

Aether Nests and Infested Strongholds are two different activities, and both are displayed on the map. You can see the icons for both in the image above. There are multiple nests and strongholds all over the map of Urzikstan.

Both the nests and strongholds will be random across games but are very distinct when next to them, as gas will pour out through the cracks of the building.
