How To Create The Fireproof Elixir in Tears of the Kingdom

To create the Fireproof Elixir, you must combine a monster part with a Fireproof Lizard or Smotherwing Butterfly. As the name suggests, the Fireproof Elixir will make Link fireproof for a set amount of time. If you’re in the mood to visit the Gorons, you’ll be able to find the Fireproof Lizard around the Eldin regions. If a butterfly hunt sounds more intriguing, you’ll likely find the Smotherwing Butterfly by traveling to higher elevations around Death Mountain.

As for monster parts, ingredients like Bokoblin or Moblin guts will do the trick, but don’t be afraid to up the potency by using multiple monster guts if you can spare it. The extra time has helped me out of more than one sticky situation.

Players can search for ingredients in their natural locales or buy them from Beedle and other local shops. Once you have the correct ingredients, find the nearest pot with an open flame (or use a portable pot), pick the ingredients in your inventory, throw them in the pot, and you’ll have an elixir ready. Remember that the duration of any elixir will change by the number of ingredients used — the more similar ingredients, the longer the effect.

Elixers are only temporary, but armor sets are forever. If you’d like to have permanent heat resistance, check out how to get the Flamebreaker Armor set in Tears of the Kingdom. Check out Prima Games for more helpful guides and tips for Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
