When I first reached the snowy island, I tried to brave some of the cold, but my meter at the bottom right quickly changed and my health was quickly running out. I ate some spicy peppers and the problem was solved for a few seconds.
Using food recipes is your best method of staying warm, especially in the early stages of the game. By using a cooking pot and combing ingredients like bird meat and spicy peppers, you can rely on recipes that provide cold resistance for minutes at a time in Tears of the Kingdom.
If you don’t want to use food, you can always make a fire as a last resort. Any kind of fire will do, but building a campfire is the most effective. Throw logs and some flint down, then hit the flint with a metal weapon to spark the fire.
