WoW’s Returning Five-Week Turbulent Timeways Event, Explained

Past and presents

Season 2 of Dragonflight is getting a little long in the tooth, but we have at least another two months or so before the next raid tier, zone, and Mythic/PvP season drops. Blizzcon is slated for November 3 and 4, where we’re almost guaranteed to hear news of the next expansion and season. If you need something to tide you over as you while away the days ’til then, leveling a fresh new character might be what the doctor ordered. Fortunately, there’s just the event to make things all the more rewarding coming up very soon.

Turbulent Timeways Schedule and Rewards

The Turbulent Timeways, a twist on Timewalking events, returns on September 26! It features five weeks of consecutive Timewalking events, each from a different expansion from WoW’s past. Timewalking sees players scaled down in power a bit to tackle challenges from days gone by as they earn copious experience and rewards in the process. The schedule is as follows:

  • September 26 – October: Cataclysm Timewalking
  • October 3 – 9: Burning Crusade Timewalking
  • October 10 – 16: Legion Timewalking
  • October 17 – 23: Mists of Pandaria Timewalking
  • October 24 – 30: Wrath of the Lich King Timewalking

For participating in the Turbulent Timeways event, players can earn the Master of the Turbulent Timeways achievement and Sandy Shalewing Mount. To earn these, you’ll need to complete consecutive Timewalking dungeons to earn Distilled Knowledge of the Timeways – a stacking consumable that increases experience gained by 5%. Upon reaching enough applications of Distilled Knowledge, the effect transforms into Mastery of the Timeways, which you’ll need to reach at least once for each of the five weeks!

Basically, to get the mount and achievement, you need to complete consecutive Timewalking dungeons for five weeks.
