So which edition should you buy? Well, if you’re even somewhat serious about playing WoW, your best bet is going to be the Epic Edition. It’s the most expensive, but the three entire days of early access is an incredible head-start you really can’t afford to miss if you’ll be doing any kind of progression or even casual raiding. The inclusion of 30 days of game time can be seen as a $15 value, if you want to feel a little better about dropping that much cash at once.

I know I sound like the world’s biggest Blizzard shill trying to sell readers on a $90 edition of a game preorder, so if you stuck your nose up at the last paragraph, trust me, I did too. Selling early access in a game like WoW is the definition of “pay-to-win,” especially in one so interested in time commitment as a means of getting more powerful. Unfortunately, there is precedent for this, and it will likely be the system we see for future expansions as well.

But before we start worrying about a new expansion, why don’t we eat our vegetables and check out the Dream Warden Renown guide? After all, who wants to level reputation in old expansions?
