Witcher 3 Cross-Save PC Data Guide – How to Import to Nintendo Switch

The patch for the Witcher 3 that introduces cross-save compatibility is patch 3.6. It first rolled out in Korea yesterday, with the United Kingdom and then North America to follow in stages. Now, it looks like all regions might finally have access to this, though 3.5 was still active in NA a few hours ago.

Patch 3.6 for The Witcher 3 introduces the ability to access your cross-save PC data if you have a playthrough on that platform as well as your Switch. In order to import your PC save data to the Nintendo Switch version of the game, you’re going to have to have either a GOG account or Steam account with the Witcher 3 on it. If you fulfill those criteria, then follow the steps below:

  1. Launch The Witcher 3 on your Switch
  2. From the main menu, select the Cloud Saves option
  3. You’ll have the option to select either Steam or GOG
  4. If you select GOG, you’ll have to pick the edition of the game that you own to proceed
  5. Log in to either your Steam or GOG account as prompted
  6. Once that’s been done, you’ll have access to your PC save file from the relevant client
  7. Load your PC save file from either the Steam menu or the GOG menu

Now that you have your Witcher 3 cross-save PC data guide in hand, accessing an old playthrough of your adventures with Geralt should be a piece of cake to do – now with bonus portability! While we’ve been enjoying cracking into the Witcher 3 on the Switch, it’s going to be cool to be able to revisit old choices and decisions like this.
