One of the most controversial changes in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was the removal of one shot sniper rifles that were so integral to both Caldera and Verdansk. Players have been begging for the ability to take out enemies with one bullet for two seasons now, and that wish may be granted in Season 3.

With the latest Call of Duty Blog post detailing what players can expect in mid-April, there seems to be much more hope for Warzone 2 as a whole. The return of one-shot snipers would be a fantastic start, and we’ll go over what we know about their implementation before the official release.

COD Warzone 2 Season 3 – Will One Shot Snipers Return?

Based on the descriptions in the Season 3 blog post, it looks like players can expect some form of one shot snipers to be available when the update goes live on April 12. However, it won’t be available for every weapon in the class like it was in the original Warzone. Instead, it appears to be reserved for specific weapons that have specific attachments.

In some of the latest notes on Season 3, this change was prefaced with a reference to the March event, which featured an event-specific sniper called the Shillelagh that could eliminate enemies with one bullet to any part of their body. Of course, we won’t get anything like that in Warzone 2, but the return of one shot snipers was confirmed shortly after.

According to the notes, these snipers will only be this deadly “under certain attachment and platform conditions.” That means only certain snipers that have the perfect set of attachments will fit the one shot criteria. Either way, players finally get the feature back in COD Warzone 2 Season 3.
