Will Modern Warfare 3 Have DMZ? (MW3) – Answered

Will the DMZ still exist?

Plenty of information has come out about the upcoming modes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, but DMZ wasn’t mentioned once until October. Now we finally have a small update on what to expect from the Warzone mode in MW3 and whether players can expect more content.

Will DMZ return in Modern Warfare 3?

The short answer is yes, DMZ will still be available to play when MW3 launches, but it will remain the same until Season 1. Al Mazrah will still be the main map, with Vondel and Ashika Island available as well. For those who like the smaller encounters, Building 21 and the DRC will also be playable when MW3 goes live.

For the time being, DMZ will remain in the Beta state, and there will supposedly still be support following the launch of Modern Warfare 3. In a post from the Call of Duty “X” account, there was a brief update on the future of DMZ. The mode will remain playable, and another update about the future will be given when Season 1 arrives for MW3 in December.

In the post from Call of Duty, Activision said, “We’re excited to share that we will continue to support the DMZ Beta. Players will have continuing infiltration opportunities for Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, Vondel, Building 21, and Koschei Complex. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the Beta! We will share further updates closer to Season 01.”

Now, whether this translates to new content or not remains to be seen. There is a whole new map for Warzone and Zombies coming in December with MW3, but that doesn’t necessarily mean DMZ will have it right away or at all. Until December, assume that DMZ will stay the same for a while.

As we wait for MW3 to launch, find out why Zombies will be much more like DMZ this year.
