Why is Sigma Disabled in Overwatch 2 – Answered

Sigma is one of those tanks you’re never unhappy to see in your comp game, no matter what rank you’re in. And if you’re a Sigma main, you’re probably reeling from the news that your favorite Tank is out of commission, at least for the time being.

But why?

The answer is, of course, because of a bug with unintended consequences.

Overwatch 2 recently released a patch that added in the new game mode, Starwatch. But this patch had unintended effects on Sigma’s ult. If players used Sigma’s second Ult in a specific way, it allowed Sigma to rise into the air as normal… and just kept him there.

That’s right. This bug gives Sigma permanent aerial supremacy. Sleep darts or other CC moves have no impact on Sigma while he’s in this mode, and he’ll be able to recover and return right back to the air. While he’s in the air, he’s still able to move and use his M1 attack as normal. But he won’t be able to use his Experimental Barrier or Kinetic Grasp.

Still, it’s terrifying to see a Tank whizzing around the map in creative mode with a Mercy pocket.

It’s highly recommended to not use this bug as people have already been banned. Including the person who discovered it.

Stay safe out there.

It’s likely that this bug stems from the low gravitational mode in Starwatch. Which is actually pretty fun! If you’re curious about all the rewards, you can get from this new mode, check out our article on it here: All Starwatch Event Rewards in Overwatch 2.
