Animal Crossing: New Horizons is no stranger to retaining Villagers and NPCs that have long-become beloved to the franchise, but there are also some new faces that players can look forward to meeting when they boot up on their very own deserted island destination for the first time. That being said, we’ve got one pressing question with the new boar NPC. Who is Daisy Mae in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Well, we’ve found out, but we don’t know if we like the answer.

Who is Daisy Mae in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

For those who are totally new to Animal Crossing and what the in-game universe has to offer, it has an equivalent of the stock market in real life called the stalk market. As you might be able to guess, this stalk market involves the trade of turnips for bells which you can then sell on for a profit later, and you can refresh your stalk portfolio once a week when a turnip seller runs around. In Animal Crossing games previously, the stalwart stalk seller was Joan, a boar who was getting on in her years.

Enter: Daisy Mae. When we first saw her in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons teasers we were a little alarmed. I mean, she had turnips on her head and mentioned that she would be around selling stalks to the Mayor (you). That coupled with the rather worrying news that there is now a tombstone on the deserted island of New Horizons that belongs to a mystery person, we’re legitimately quite worried over here at Team Prima that it might be Joan. She looks a bit like Joan which means that they could be relatives, but even so, the thought of Joan no longer being with us is really depressing. We had so many great memories with her over the years!

Now that you’ve got a better idea of who Daisy Mae is in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and you’re also suitably horrified at the idea that Joan from Animal Crossing: New Leaf might have kicked the bucket and be buried on the island, well, welcome to Hell! It’s the dystopia that we live in, baby. Now, if you need a hand with anything else related to Animal Crossing: New Horizons and being exploited by Tom Nook, why not check out some of the tips and tricks that we’ve put together for Mayors just like yourself in our dedicated guides hub for the game?
