Before deciding whether to get the Chipped Pot or Cracked Pot, it’s important to understand the difference between them. In short, the pot you equip onto your Sinistea depends on its form. If you have a Phony Sinistea, you need the Cracked Pot. For any Authentic Sinistea Pokemon in your party, you’ll want to equip the Chipped Pot instead.

To determine which form your Sinistea is in, place it in your first party slot and press ZR on your controller. You’ll enter Let’s Go Mode, which allows you to see your Pokemon in the Overworld. Check the bottom of your Sinistea and look out for a small blue marking. If there isn’t one, it’s a Phony Sinistea. Similarly, if there is a mark here, you have an Authentic Sinistea!

Now that we know how to figure out which pot we need, the next step is to go to Porto Marinada after defeating the Cascarrafa Gym Leader. As you complete the Gym Test for Cascarrafa, you’ll discover Porto Marinada’s Auction Center. If you attempt this before completing the gym, a message will appear, telling you that you need more experience.

You’ll find three vendors here selling Pokeballs, consumable items, and other useful resources to help you on your journey. Every few hours, their inventories will reset, giving you new materials to buy. Among these is the Chipped Pot and Cracked Pot.

Where to Find the Cracked Pot – Alternate Location

Unfortunately, if you’re trying to evolve an Authentic Sinistea using a Chipped Pot, Porto Marinada’s Auction is your only option. For anyone evolving a Phony Sinistea, though, there’s hope.

An alternative method for getting a Cracked Pot is to head to Socarrat Trail. In the center of this area, you’ll find a large alcove with a green door leading to a shrine. Instead of going in here, head directly southwest to the nearest tree. You’ll find a Pokeball on the ground containing a Cracked Pot. Just be careful of the high-level Pokemon guarding the area!
