Not so secret anymore

How to Find the Grizzby Rune Vendor in SoD

Grizzby is found inside the inn in Ratchet, turning to your right as soon as you enter. At first, he’ll have nothing to say to you if you lack the funds and will send you off saying that you’re too poor to buy anything from him.

But if you talk with him while having enough money (probably around 10 gold), he’ll give you a different dialogue. Speak with Grizzby again and he’ll start giving out three different quests for you. Completing these quests will unlock his special shop, which sells some of the previously unknown Runes for all classes in the game.

All Runes will cost 5 Gold each, so you should afford them as long as you didn’t spend that extra money you had between completing all three quests for him. Speaking of those, these quests are:

  • Fish Oil: Collect 24 Fish Oil and deliver them to Grizzby.
  • Dark Iron Ordinance: Collect 20 Dark Iron Ordinance from Dark Iron Dwarves (found at the top of Wetlands or at the south of Arathi Highlands) and deliver them to Grizzby.
  • Shredder Turbocharges: Collect 16 Shredder Turbocharges and deliver them to Grizzby. You can get those by using the Shredder Autosalvage Unit (drops from Sneed in The Deadmines) on any defeated Shredder mob.

While you can meet him and get enough money earlier than that, you’ll probably want to reach Level 25 before starting these quests to make them easier. The runes available with Grizzby are:

  • Harmonious Epiphany (Priest)
  • Rune of Sacrifice (Paladin)
  • Spell Notes: Rewind Time (Mage)
  • Rune of Lone Wolf (Hunter)
  • Rune of Survival (Druid)
  • Rune of the Warbringer (Warrior)
  • Rune of the Pact (Warlock)
  • Rune of Main Gauche (Rogue)
  • Rune of Dual Wield Specialization (Shaman)

Some of these are the bread and butter for certain builds, so head for Grizzby as soon as you can. Runes are just that good in this version of the game.
