Every magical beast on the map can be found in a den that is marked by a paw print on the map. If you’re taking on Professor Howin’s assignment, you’ll notice it’s nearly impossible to find a Diricawl den in particular. The good news is we have you covered with an easy spot to catch your own dodo bird in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy – Where to Find a Diricawl

There is a den for the Diricawl that’s fairly close to Hogwarts Castle, but it’s covered by the quest symbol which is why it’s easy to miss. You can find the den to the south near Keenbridge. If you travel to the Keenbridge Floo Flame, you can head northwest for the hillside. There you’ll find a Merlin Trial, the Diricawl den, and an Ancient Magic Hotspot.

When you arrive, you’ll find a handful of the dodo bird lookalikes waddling around a patch of land. Be careful though, because some Inferius can appear in an ambush. After they’ve been dealt with, you can begin attempting to catch the birds. But they may be tougher than you’d imagine.

How to Catch Diricawl in Hogwarts Legacy

Magical beasts all have different amounts of ticks that need to be hit to catch them. If they get away before you fill the meter in the nab-sack, then they reset. The Diricawl has four, so it has plenty of time to reset all of the ticks and force the nab-sack meter back to zero.

The best method is to use the Disillusionment spell, get as close as you can, and then cast the Levioso spell on the group of birds. From here, use the nab-sack right away and you’ll have just enough time to catch the Diricawl in Hogwarts Legacy before they get away.
