While the reviews seem to be pretty divisive, those that are enjoying Death Stranding are really enjoying its unique take on gameplay mechanics in a world filled with battle royale and live-service frameworks. One aspect of Death Stranding is locating all of the memory chips when building those connections with other players, so here’s a handy little guide regarding where to find those memory chips in Death Stranding.

Where to Find All Memory Chips In Death Stranding 

There are 56 chips in total in order to earn the Fount of Knowledge trophy. Tracking progress is also pretty simple, simply open up the memory chip menu from Settings > Memory Chip Option. This will track the number of chips collected as the game progresses. 

As for how to get said memory chips, you’re going to want to make sure that you properly upgrade the city and read all emails, this ensures that those memory chips show up when scanning for them. As for where to go, here’s the list of locations and where to find them: 

  • Frame Arms: Byakko near the Waystation West capital of Knot City
  • Frame Arms Girls: Byakko near Wind Farm by the fence
  • Frame Arms: Kagetora in Lake Knot City area near the truck that is by the entrance to the building, on top of the vehicle
  • Frame Arms: Genbu near Weather Station under the antenna
  • Frame Arms: Mingwu near Mama’s Lab in the small tunnel 
  • Prime 1 Studio 1/2 Scale Ludens Statue: near Mountain Knot City in between two snow columns up north
  • Max Factory Ludens Figma: near the South Knot City distribution center in a crater 
  • Christine: near the Elder area within the small cave, will definitely need to scan
  • Godzilla: found after chapter 6 completion in Mountain Knot City
  • The Walk: near First Prepper immediately after the “Food Tastes Better When You’re Up High” message
  • Matango: found in the hills in the Elder area
  • The Seven Samurai: found in an empty camp near the Waystation West of Capital Knot City
  • The Bridge on the River Kwai – Near Mama’s Lab at Timefall to the side of the broken down bridge
  • Big Fish: near Port Knot City on top of a green container
  • Dr. Strangelove: near the heart-shaped lake in Heartman’s Lab
  • Eggshell Carving: in Lake Knot City in the enemy camp
  • Glasscraft: just outside of the enemy camp east of Craftsman
  • Coffee Cup: near Timefall Farm on the right side of the Mule camp
  • Soap Bubble: On the roof near Timefall Farm
  • Frozen Soap Bubble: cliff edge near Heartman’s Lab
  • Dandelion Seeds: must complete chapter 8 near the Spirtualist location
  • Pottery: tower behind Mama’s Lab
  • Snow Crystal: near Moutain Knot City at the front of the building
  • Fused Silica: near Paleontologist after the “Much Respect to Porters Everywhere” message
  • Honda NSR250R: inside the enemy camp in Craftman
  • Honda Rebel 500: near enemy camp in Timefall Farm 
  • Triumph Bonneville Bobber: enemy camp couch south of Lake Knot City
  • Triumph Street Triple RS: inside the shipping container near the garbage truck
  • Kawasaki Ninja H2R: enemy camp near Exo-Devo Biologist
  • Death Stranding Low Roar: Port Knot City near the water
  • Lucio Fulci’s Horror and Thriller Compilation: Capital Knot City on the roof of the incinerator 
  • Profondo Rosso Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Captial Knot City after the Glowing Object email, on the oof
  • Dawn/Silent Poets: Musician area under the arch
  • Low Roar: Timefall Farm near the river bank
  • 0 Low Roar: Lake Knot city where the poisonous gas is (make sure to equip an oxygen mask)
  • Once in a Long, Long While, Low Roar: Film Director where the poisonous gas is
  • God of War OST: Wind and Farm Distribution Center West of Capital City, at the end of the path
  • Valhalla Rising OST: Timefall Farm at the top of the mountain 
  • Nicolas Winding Refn | The Wicked Die Young: in the ruins near Mountain Knot City
  • Unknown Man’s Journal Part 2: Junk Dealer in the back of a run-down car in the street

For now, Death Stranding – and all of its memory chips – is available on PlayStation 4 with a Summer 2020 release planned for Steam and the Epic Games Store.
