What is Wingman Mode in CS2? – Answered

Wingman go pew pew pew

Many would agree that keeping only the basic five versus five competitive mode would be detrimental to the long-term popularity of CS because of repetitiveness and other factors. This is why Valve has introduced a handful of modes that serve to entertain millions of players worldwide in CS2 and CS:GO before it. One of them is Wingman Mode, which some players are still not familiar with. I will be glad to guide you through the basics of Wingman mode in CS2.

How to Play Wingman Mode in CS2

In order to play Wingman Mode in CS2, in the main menu, press Play, select “Matchmaking,” and then “Wingman.” From the following menu, you will be able to choose the maps you want to play Competitive Wingman on.

On the right side of the screen, you will be able to form your party and fine-tune matchmaking settings. In addition, you can decide if your party will be open or closed. An open party allows friends to hop in, while a closed one requires you to send out an invitation to them through Steam.

How Does Wingman Work in CS2?

Wingman is a demolition-type game in CS2 which is played in teams of two players. There is only one site available on each of the maps in the Wingman pool, and a couple of ways the Ts can get to it. The round time limit is 90 seconds. Whoever wins 16 rounds first wins the match. There is no short competitive mode for Wingman. I assure you that it lasts shorter than the 5v5 match, but more on that later.

The economy works a tad bit differently than in the regular competitive mode, so here’s a chart of events and their results. Think of it as a cheat sheet that you can look at later if you bookmark this page.

How Long Does a Wingman Competitive Match Last in CS2?

The worst-case scenario is 90 seconds times 30 rounds (assuming it’s going to be a tie at 15:15), which adds up to 45 minutes. However, let’s be completely real: most of the matches will be over within 20 minutes. The game mode is fast-paced, and you will most likely have rounds that last about 30 seconds on average.

That would be about everything you need to know about Wingman in CS2 to get started. Here’s how to refund purchases in CS2.
