Is it a shiny Charizard, a first-edition Mew, or something else entirely? Well, we have the answer for you below.
What is the Rarest Pokemon Card in Existence? – Answered
It turns out the rarest Pokemon card is the 1998 Pikachu illustrator card. This Pikachu is considered the rarest card in all of the Pokemon TCG, but why?
Well, only 39 of these cards were ever made. These were given to contestants in a design-your-own Pokemon card contest run by CoroCoro comics. The winners would receive their own illustrations as a card, but also the coveted Pikachu Illustrator card.
So not only did you have to win a contest to even obtain this card, you were only given one. On top of this, only one card has ever been graded the elusive PSA Grade 10. Meaning there is theoretically only one perfect version of this card in circulation.

The Pikachu Illustrator card also has some key features unique to the card. Instead of the word “Trainer” written across the top, the word “Illustrator” is there. It also has a double star rarity at the bottom of the card, unique to it.
Who owns the PSA Grade 10? Well, Logan Paul. He recently bought it at auction for over 5 million dollars.
